During the COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2) pandemic, it is crucial to wear a mask to help slow the spread of the virus among people. Masks reduce the risk of an infected person contaminate others, whether they are showing symptoms or not.

People wearing masks are protected from getting infected, but should also sanitize their hands often, avoid touching their eyes and mouth, and maintain social distance.

History of Our Lady of Fátima

In 1917, in the small village of Fátima, Portugal, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children: Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco. Between May and October, on the 13th of each month, the children reported seeing a luminous Lady who brought messages of prayer, peace, and devotion to the world.

During these apparitions, Our Lady entrusted the children with three secrets and called for prayer, especially the Rosary, as a path to conversion and hope for humanity.

The final apparition, on October 13, 1917, was witnessed by tens of thousands of people who had gathered in Fátima, Portugal. Many reported seeing the extraordinary Miracle of the Sun, a phenomenon in which the sun appeared to dance across the sky.

Today, the Sanctuary of Fátima, Portugal stands as one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, welcoming millions of pilgrims each year who come to pray, honor Our Lady of Fátima, and seek her message of peace.
